It is not suggested to be place in the garage due to volatile external temperature ranges. The way the unit is designed, there are multi zones inside the unit without having to create a separation -- which would remove valuable bottle space. Whites go towards the bottom (colder) and the reds toward the top (warmer). Please note: It is a normal function of the unit for the temperature to fluctuate. The unit is designed to cycle -- and this fluctuation of 5 degrees prevents the unit from excessive cycling. No home is complete without a Wine Cellar, and this is one of the best.
